Over budget by $1.85 for the year (Wednesday Weekly Shopping)
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!
My goal budget per week is $80 for a family of five, including food, paper and plastic goods, and health and beauty items. Some weeks I'm well under, others I'm a bit over.
As of now, my weekly average is $80.06 - which means that for the year, I'm $1.85 over.
Just had to put one item back, like the Chavrie goat cheese I got this week for $1.89 after coupons, and I'd be under for the year!
Here's what I got this week:
Overall, this week I spent $86.77 for items which retail for $159.57, or a 46% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased.
For the year (30 weeks), I spent $2,401.85 for items which retailed for $4,152.35 and saved $1,750.50, or a 42% savings. That's an average of $80.06 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 15, 12, and 8), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat, as well as paper and plastic goods, health and beauty items, and cleaning supplies.
In 2011, I spent $4,017.13 for items which retailed for $7,344.08, saving 45% and spending an average of $77.25 per week for the year.
In 2012, I spent $4,007.13 for items which retailed for $7,591.37, saving 47% and spending an average of $77.06 per week for the year.
