ALDI: Filling up the pantry again

In the weeks leading up to Passover, I stopped buying items that contained flour and had my family eat the foods we had stored in the pantry. Now that the holiday's over, it's time to fill up again!

Unfortunately, many of the items I needed were not on sale at Publix this week. I'll refill when they do, but instead I went to my #2 savings strategy - buying at ALDI.

So I bought flour, oatmeal, macaroni, and crackers - all items I would normall buy on sale at Publix with coupons. But I just bought one here at full ALDI price. I hope these items go on sale at Publix soon!

Here's what I got:

Trip 1 (pictured immediately above):
10 lb russet potatoes @ $1.79
2 gallons milk @ $3.29 = $6.58
2 dozen eggs @ $1.49 = $2.98
1 Romaine hearts @ $1.99
2.42 lb bananas @ 44¢/lb = $1.06
2 baby carrots @ 59¢ = $1.18
1 grape tomatoes @ $1.29
1 parsley flakes @ 99¢
1 apple juice concentrate @ 99¢
1 butter quarters @ $1.99

Total spent: $20.84

Trip 2: (pictured at the top of this post)
2 gallons milk @ $3.29 = $6.58
1 mandarin oranges @ $2.29
1 3-lb Fuji apples @ $3.29
2.27 lb bananas @ 33¢/lb = 75¢
1 apple juice concentrate @ 99¢
1 2-lb elbow macaroni @ $1.69
1 red velvet cake @ $1.29
1 20-ct tortilla @ $1.99
1 5-lb all-purpose flour @ $1.79
1 refried beans @ 79¢
1 instant oatmeal @ $1.49
1 thin wheat crackers @ $1.39
2 whole wheat bread @ $1.29 = $2.58

Total spent: $26.91

Wow! You're really good at grocery shopping. I'm curious, what's your meal plan for the week?
