Triple trips to Publix (Wednesday Weekly Shopping)
Last week, I took lots to trips to Publix - three of them! I loved the first week of the Viva Italia sale, so I took two more trips there, then went for the second week of the sale. Why couldn't there be a third week?
Here's what I got this week:
Overall, this week I spent $60.12 for items which retail for $142.45, or a 58% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased.
For the year (9 weeks), I spent $696.97 for items which retailed for $1,228.43 and saved $531.46, or a 43% savings. That's an average of $77.44 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 15, 12, and 7), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat, as well as paper and plastic goods, health and beauty items, and cleaning supplies.
In 2011, I spent $4,017.13 for items which retailed for $7,344.08, saving 45% and spending an average of $77.25 per week for the year.
In 2012, I spent $4,007.13 for items which retailed for $7,591.37, saving 47% and spending an average of $77.06 per week for the year.

Wow!! You did so good at Publix. I am still working towards the bigger shopping trips
Thanks for your useful tips on saving money. We too shop at Publix. My husband does most of the shopping and he buys lots of things when there are the 2 for 1 price deals
