Out of the drug store habit (Wednesday Weekly Shopping)
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!
I've barely been to the drug stores to get deals all year. Partly this is because my middle daughter is playing basketball on Sunday afternoons, right when I would normally go to the stores. And some of it, I admit, is just laziness - not wanting to look through the ads and deal lists to find the best deals.
I definitely need to get going again with shopping at the drug stores - several items in my personal care stockpile are running low, and I certainly don't want to pay full price for them!
But I did shop at Publix and ALDI this week. Here's what I got:
Overall, this week I spent $75.24 for items which retail for $148.65, or a 49% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased.
For the year (7 weeks), I spent $530.54 for items which retailed for $873.30 and saved $342.76, or a 39% savings. That's an average of $75.79 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 15, 12, and 7), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat, as well as paper and plastic goods, health and beauty items, and cleaning supplies.
In 2011, I spent $4,017.13 for items which retailed for $7,344.08, saving 45% and spending an average of $77.25 per week for the year.
In 2012, I spent $4,007.13 for items which retailed for $7,591.37, saving 47% and spending an average of $77.06 per week for the year.
How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire! Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

I am in the same boat since I do not need to stock up on diapers anymore :) I find myself skipping the drug stores as well. It's nice not to have to run around on Sunday's though
You did great as always! I was bummed I missed the Mott's deal. :(
Thanks for dropping by and linking up your savings! :D
