One of my lowest totals ever! (Wednesday Weekly Shopping)
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!
Another really low week! I skipped the drug stores and didn't buy that much at ALDI, eating from the cupboards instead. So this is one of my lowest totals ever!
Here's what I got this week:
I also bought 8 cans of beans from Walmart - ALDI doesn't carry canned white beans and chickpeas. They were 68¢ each, so I spent $5.44.
Overall, this week I spent $42.15 for items which retail for $58.46, or a 28% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased.
For the year (3 weeks), I spent $232.92 for items which retailed for $355.74 and saved $122.82, or a 35% savings. That's an average of $77.64 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 15, 12, and 7), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat, as well as paper and plastic goods, health and beauty items, and cleaning supplies.
In 2011, I spent $4,017.13 for items which retailed for $7,344.08, saving 45% and spending an average of $77.25 per week for the year.
In 2012, I spent $4,007.13 for items which retailed for $7,591.37, saving 47% and spending an average of $77.06 per week for the year.
How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire! I love those weeks that you do not need much and your totals are super low!
You may have had your lowest totals ever, but I surely had my highest. It hurts my frugal pockets:)
I find as I coupon, I am learning more and more how to reduce my bill each time I walk into the grocery stores and other stores. Sites like yours and others are helping me understand, that coupons rock :)
