ALDI: Right on the button!
Last week, there was an ALDI coupon in my local newspaper - $5 off a purchase of $30 or more. I cut out the coupon and put it in my purse, but had forgotten about it while I did my shopping.
When I went to check out, I remembered the coupon. But I wasn't sure what my purchase total would be. Usually when I have a dollars-off coupon, I keep track of the cost of my purchases on a calculator, so that I'm sure I've spent the necessary amount. I didn't do that this time.
But, to my surprise, the total amount was $30.21. Right on the button! So I was able to use the coupon.
Here's what I got:
2 gallons milk @ $3.29 = $6.58
2 dozen eggs @ $1.59 = $3.18
2 apple juice concentrate @ 99¢ = $1.98
1 cream cheese @ 99¢
1 3-lb onions @ $1.49
1 3-lb apples @ $3.39
2 celery @ 89¢ = $1.78
2 trays green peppers @ 99¢ = $1.98
1 baby carrots @ 59¢
1 grape tomatoes @ 89¢
1 instant oatmeal @ $1.49
1 20-ct tortilla @ $1.99
1 vanilla extract @ $1.99
1 juice pouches @ $1.89
- $5 off $30 coupon
Total product: $25.21
Tax: 12¢
Total out of pocket: $25.33
Total saved compared to ALDI full prices: $5.00
I made a second trip today. Here's what I got:
2.33 lb bananas @ 44¢/lb = $1.03
2 multi-colored pepper trays @ $1.49 = $2.98
1 16-oz shredded cheddar @ $2.99
1 cream cheese @ 99¢
1 2-lb brown sugar @ $1.39
1 6-pack applesauce @ $1.59
1 100-ct sandwich bags @ $1.99
2 instant pudding @ 55¢ = $1.10
1 cooking spray @ $1.39
1 20-ct tortilla @ $1.99
1 whole wheat bread @ $1.29
Tax: 12¢
Total out of pocket: $18.85

Great job! Aldi is a great store. I went there a lot when I lived in Ohio. They don't have one local now that I live in WV but there is a Save A Lot. I usually shop at Kroger now though because of all the great discounts and savings on gas.
