Menu plan 9-3-12: Ebb and flow
It seems like there is an ebb and flow to the fullness of my fridge. Right now it's filled to the brim with leftovers and great produce and dairy deals from the grocery stores. But in a week or two, it will be somewhat empty again. The goal is to use up items before they go bad, but not to use them up too quickly. It's tempting to go through specialty foods that we don't often have, but once they're gone, they're gone until the next good sale. That's one reason why meal planning is so important!
So here are my dinner plans:
Monday - hot dogs and hamburgers
Tuesday - salmon with 7 spice seasoning over salad greens
Wednesday - red pepper whole wheat pizza
Thursday - veggie burritos, brown rice with salsa and cheese
Friday - baked chicken thighs, pasta with garlic and oil, salad, challah
Saturday - veggie chili over pasta
Sunday - takeout!
