How to pay for college
Paying for college is something I think about regularly. My eldest daughter is in 10th grade. We've saved for her college, but probably not enough. I recently read that a year at our local state university, including tuition, room, board, and fees, is $17,000 per year! And that's a state university. And it's sure to continue to increase!
So we're looking at ways to decrease the cost. My daughter is a good student, so we're looking into scholarship opportunities.
Here are a couple of books I've read or am now reading about the subject:
- Debt-Free U: How I Paid for an Outstanding College Education Without Loans, Scholarships, or Mooching off My Parents by Zac Bissonette
- How to Go to College Almost for Free by Ben Kaplan
- The Scholarship Scouting Report: An Insider's Guide to America's Best Scholarships by Ben Kaplan
