Publix: Save with Market Pantry coupons
This trip to Publix, I did something couponing-wise that I've never done before: I used Target Market Pantry coupons when buying Publix store brands. (Yes, you can do that!) I combined a $1/2 Market Pantry cheese coupon with 2 $1 off 1 lb. of cheese manufacturer's coupon (Florida only) to save on shredded cheese. Good thing, because we were almost out!
I was wondering if the cashier would make an issue about the Target coupons, even though Publix allows it. But there was no problem. It was an easy way to save more!
Otherwise, I stocked up on pasta sauce, peanut butter, and yogurt. And that was it this week at Publix.
Here's what I got:
2 1-lb Publix shredded cheese @ $4.49 = $8.98
- 2 $1/1 1-lb cheese manufacturer's coupon (Florida only)
- $1/2 Market pantry cheese items Target coupon
= $5.98 for two, or $2.99 each (or $1.50 per 8 ounces)
2 Peter Pan peanut butter @ BOGO $3.29
- 2 $1/1 Peter Pan Peanut Butter, exp. 8/26/12 (Publix, Life Makes You Hungry)
= $1.29 for two, or 65¢ each
6 Classico pasta sauce @ BOGO $2.99 = $8.97
- 2 $1/3 Classico Sauce printable
= $6.97 for six, or $1.16 each
10 Publix yogurt @ 40¢ = $4.00
- $2 off $25 Doris Italian Market coupon (Recyclebank)
Total out of pocket: $16.24
Total saved compared to Publix full prices: $25.26

Where did you get the penut butter coupon from?
I got the peanut butter coupon from the "Life Makes You Hungry" Publix coupon sheet, which I found on a stand near the entrance of my Publix store a few weeks ago.
I work for Publix, 23 years, we are not suppose to take Market Pantry coupons since our policy states we take competitor coupons for IDENTICAL items only. So don't be surprised to go to your Publix and get turned down for these. Sorry!!!
Here's the official Publix coupon policy, located at http://www.publix.com/pages/Page44.do
Q: Will Publix accept a competitor’s coupon for a private label item?
A: Yes. We’re happy to accept a coupon for a competitor’s private label product because it’s a chance to introduce you to our terrific Publix brand.
