There's a great deal going on right now at CVS for Hershey's Simple Pleasures chocolates. These are chocolates with a creamy filling - I chose the dark chocolate with chocolate filling. Here's the deal:
2 Hershey's Simple Pleasures @ $3.00 = $6.00 (receive $2 Extra Care Bucks good on your next visit)
- 2 $1/1 Hershey's Simple Pleasures printable
= $4.00 for two, or $2.00 each ($1.00 each after ECBs)
Having heard recently about a chocolate chip cookie that had an Oreo cookie in the middle, I thought it would be fun to make a cookie with a Simple Pleasures candy in the middle! I used a standard sugar cookie dough to surround the candy. After baking, it had melted just a little, and it was delicious!
Here's the recipe:
SIMPLE PLEASURES-FILLED COOKIES
1 cup butter, softened
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
24 Hershey's Simple Pleasures candies
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the flour to the butter/sugar mixture a little of the time and mix well.
Unwrap the candies. Take one candy and a golf-ball sized amount of cookie dough. Push the candy into the cookie dough and roll it around in your hands until the candy is covered with dough. Place on a baking sheet. Continue until all the candies and dough are used.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, or until slightly browned. Cool cookies on a wire rack.
Makes 24 cookies.

Yum! Reminds me of those Keebler Magic Middles cookies I used to eat when I was a kid...
Looks great. I love it when there is little surprises in a muffin, cookie, or even a brownie. Yummy.
