ALDI: Simplified shopping
This summer, I'm keeping my shopping simple. Or rather, simple for me. Instead of hitting several different stores to get the best deals, I'm limiting my shopping to Publix for the deals, the drug stores on the weekend, and otherwise picking up what I need at ALDI.
I may not be saving the absolute maximum, but I know that I'm getting a good price there. And that makes my summer a whole lot less complicated.
Here's what I got at ALDI:
ALDI trip 1:
2 gallons milk @ $2.99 = $5.98
3 apple juice concentrate @ 99¢ = $2.97
1 cottage cheese @ $1.99
2 cream cheese @ $1.19 = $2.38
1 celery @ $1.19
1 package bananas @ 73¢
1 strawberries @ $1.29
1 blueberries @ $1.29

1 white zinfandel @ $2.69
1 strawberry jam @ $2.49
1 5-lb all-purpose flour@ $1.79
1 sandwich bags @ $1.79
Tax: 29¢
Total out of pocket: $40.00 (neat, huh?)
ALDI trip 2:
1 sour cream @ $1.29
1 2-lb brown sugar @ $1.49
1 20-ct tortillas @ $1.99
2 woven wheat crackers @ $1.25 = $2.50

I did the same thing a couple weeks ago and spent $78 on a very full cart of groceries. My husband said the apples were the best he's ever had.
Gotta love the ones that end up with even numbers!! I really wish that Aldi's was closer but I can't justify the gas to go 30 minutes out of the way to get there stuff!! Congrats on the simple life :) It helps to have more time with the family!!!
