Saved almost 70%! (Wednesday Weekly Shopping)
I had a great savings week this week - I saved almost 70%!
That's because I did most of my shopping this week at Publix, which had some amazing deals. And, I stayed under budget, yay!
Actually, my savings percentage was 69%, which reminds me of this movie scene:
Here's what I got this week:
Overall, this week I spent $65.20 for items which retail for $210.29, or a 69% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased. (But don't compare percentages!)
For the year (17 weeks), I spent $1212.10 for items which retailed for $2333.84, and saved $1121.74, or a 48% savings. That's an average of $71.30 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 14, 11, and 7), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat.
In 2011, I spent $4017.13 for items which retailed for $7344.08, saving 45% and spending an average of $77.25 per week for the year.

Wow, 69 percent is awesome! Great job Laura! I spent $65 too, but I think you got more for your money.
