Publix: Mistakes & Mistakes
Last week, Publix had an extra-long sales week, but I still waited until the last possible day to shop.
And I made a bunch of mistakes. I planned my trip, cut out coupons, and made a list. Then I picked up everything on my list, calculated the pre-coupon amount, and found I was a few dollars under $50 - I needed to be at $50 so that I could use my $10 off $50 Whole Foods coupon and get two $50 gas cards for $40 each. So I checked the discount carts - usually there are no good deals there, but this time I found some cocoa and chocolate syrup that was 50% off. So I got $3 worth to take my total over $50.
One of the items I bought was M&Ms. The large bags were BOGO, and with a $1 off 2 Target coupon, they seemed a good deal to get for my daughter's birthday party this weekend.
I went to check out, and everything was going okay. The cashier started running the coupons when she asked, "Did you buy Rice Krispies?"
Oh, shoot. I had forgotten to put the Rice Krispies (as well as the Kashi cereal) on my list. No wonder I was under $50. I took the coupons back, finished the transaction, put my bags in the car, and came back for the cereal.
And what did I find on the Rice Krispies boxes? A peelie coupon for free medium-sized M&M bags when you buy two boxes of Rice Krispies! Ugh! I wouldn't have bought the large bags had I had the coupon, which I would have had if I hadn't forgotten to put the cereal on my shopping list.
So I got the cereal and the free M&Ms. So now I have five bags of M&Ms in the house. Oh, well, it could be worse!

I hate when I make mistakes like that, but they happen:)
If you're going to make mistakes, have them involve lots of chocolate! :D
