M&M Cookies (Frugal Food Thursday)
Welcome to Frugal Food Thursday! If you have a great frugal recipe, please link up below!
This week, I'm rerunning one of my most popular recipes: M&M Cookies. I'm not sure why it's so popular, but that's how it is!
I bought five, yes five, bags of M&Ms at Publix today. I bought the first two because the large bags were on a buy one, get one free sale, I had a Target coupon, for $1 off two bags, and I needed candy for my daughter's birthday party. But when I went to check out, I realized I had forgotten to pick up Rice Krispies. So after checking out, I went back for the cereal. When I got them, I discovered coupons on the Rice Krispies package for free medium-sized M&M bags when you bought two boxes of Rice Krispies. Since I was buying six boxes of Rice Krispies, I got three more bags for free!
So I'll be sure to be making these yummy cookies soon!
M&M Cookies
2 sticks butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 12-oz bag plain M&Ms
Cream together the butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Add rest of dry ingredients and mix well. After all dry ingredients are moistened, add half of the M&Ms.
Drop by teaspoon onto a non-stick cookie sheet. Flatten each cookie slightly with your palm. Add the rest of the M&M's to the tops of the cookies.
Bake cookies at 350 for 9 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow cookies to sit on cookie sheet for 1 minute, then remove and cool on wire racks.
