CVS: Expiring ECBs, oh no!
I found myself at CVS at 8:45 this evening. Not a usual time for me to be shopping!
But an hour earlier, I had discovered that I had $3.99 in ECBs expiring today. And there's no way I'm going to waste ECBs! Usually I use them up week to week, but I haven't shopped much at the drug stores lately. Partly because I haven't had a lot of time to plan out shopping trips, but mostly because there just haven't been that many great deals.
I didn't have time to plan a great trip this time, either. So I decided to just pick up my usual go-to item when I need to use up ECBs: toilet paper. I saw that Charmin was on sale, so I quickly cut out the coupon from Sunday's P&G insert and headed out once the kids went to bed.
And when I got there, I scanned my card through the coupon machine and got my quarterly ECBs based on my purchases from January through March. It was only 50¢. So there's proof I haven't done much CVS shopping this year. But something is better than nothing!
Here's the transaction:
1 Charmin Basic 12-pack @ $5.99
- 25¢ off Charmin coupon (4/1 P&G)
= $5.74
Total product: $5.74
Pay with $4.49 in ECBs (50¢, 99¢, $3.00)
Total product after ECBs: $1.25
Tax: 33¢
Total out of pocket: $1.58
Total saved compared to CVS full prices: $8.24
