ALDI: Filling up the fridge

I made a stop over at ALDI yesterday to get some much-needed food for the fridge - it was pretty empty in there!  I also picked up some items for an upcoming birthday party.

Here's what I got:

2 gallons milk @ $2.99 = $5.98
1 3-lb apples @ $2.69
1 chocolate ice cream @ $1.99
2 apple juice concentrate @ 92¢ = $1.84
1 juice pouches 10-pack @ $1.79
2 canned mushrooms @ 59¢ = $1.18
1 2-lb powdered sugar @ $1.49
1 whole wheat bread @ $1.29
1 5-lb all-purpose flour @ $1.79
1 6-pk applesauce cups @ $1.29
1 10-pk instant oatmeal @ $1.49

Total product: $22.82
Tax: 11¢
Total out of pocket: $22.93

Hi Nancy! I live in Florida. Here most food is tax-free, except for soda and non-100% juice (the source of the tax on my bill), candy, and prepared food. Also paper goods, personal care items, and health and beauty items (other than medicine) are taxable. I agree, taxing basic food items seems wrong to me.
