Wiggle room in my budget (Wednesday Weekly Shopping)
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!
This week, my weekly average went down quite a bit - down to about $75 per week for the first ten weeks of the year. This will give me lots of wiggle room in my budget in the future - I'll be able to go over for a week or two driving my weekly average above $80 per week, my budgeted amount.
I didn't spend so much because there just wasn't a lot to buy this week. Where did all the deals go?
Here's what I got this week:
Overall, this week I spent $54.72 for items which retail for $97.94, or a 44% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased. (But don't compare percentages!)
For the year (10 weeks), I spent $753.91 for items which retailed for $1495.40, and saved $741.49, or a 49.5% savings. That's an average of $75.39 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 14, 11, and 6), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat.
In 2011, I spent $4017.13 for items which retailed for $7344.08, saving 45% and spending an average of $77.25 per week for the year.
How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire! Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

How's the quality at Western Beef? I have been hesitant about going there, since they took over after Albertsons.
I was able to price match the cucumbers at Walmart, I also price matched lettuce from Bravo and Chicken from Sedano's...or maybe it was the other way around.
You always do such an awesome job! I wish we had a Western Beef (whatever they are) because you always seem to get really good deals there. Thanks for linking up at My Road to Savings and have a wonderful weekend!
Gotta love the Aldi produce deals!
