Target: Pasta and sauce for cheap
I haven't been to Target to grocery shop in several months. Since Publix clarified their competitor coupon policy, and my local Publix started accepting Target online printable coupons as a competitor coupon, I'd rather use my Target coupons at Publix, since Publix's sale prices are generally cheaper than Target's.
But this week, Target had a great deal on their house brand pasta and sauce, so I decided to take advantage of it! I was able to get boxes of pasta and jars of sauce for less than 50¢ each.
Here's what I got:
6 Market Pantry pasta @ 99¢ = $5.94
6 Market Pantry pasta sauce @ $1.00 = $6.00
- 6 $1/2 Market Pantry Pasta Sauce AND Dry Pasta Target printable
= $2.94 for six boxes of pasta (49¢ each) and $3.00 for six jars of sauce (50¢ each)
Total product: $5.94
- 10¢ for using two reusable bags
Total spent: $5.84
Total saved compared to Target full prices: $7.84

Can you explain how you are able to use (12) $1/2 coupons when you are only buying 12 products? You should have only been able to use 6, since you have to buy 1 pasta and 1 sauce for every coupon.
Hi Amy! Thanks for your comment. I guess I wasn't clear in the way I first wrote that. I did have only 6 coupons, not 12. $3.00 was taken off the price of the the pasta and $3.00 was taken off the price of the sauce. I've rewritten the blog entry to make that clearer. Hope that helps.
Thanks for clearing that up. Good job!
I tried this deal at my local target and they denied the coupons! The cashier said each coupon now read one coupon per guest. Did your coupons have that phrase as well or did they change the coupons? Thanks :)
I don't have the coupons anymore but I would presume they are all the same. I guess they could have limited me to one deal but they did not. If that happens, you could do multiple transactions. Of course I want to follow the rules!
