Bialetti Aeternum Nonstick Saute Pan Review / Giveaway
If you're being frugal and cooking almost all your meals from scratch, you'll need a good set of cooking pans. If you're constantly having food stick and burn while you cook, and having difficulty cleaning the pan afterward, you're more likely to just throw in the towel and order takeout. It's better to invest in good cookware than to spend money on restaurant food week after week!
So I was really excited to test out Bialetti USA's Aeternum 10-1/4" Nonstick Saute Pan. The Aeternum pan is a stain-resistant nonstick pan that's easy to clean. Its white nonstick coating allows excellent monitoring of food while cooking. It's also eco-friendly - it's PFOA, PTFE, and cadmium free. It has a nano-ceramic coating that can withstand up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit, resisting scratches and abrasions. It has a heavy-gauge aluminum interior and a silicone exterior that is scratch resistant.
Here's a video about the Bialetti Aeternum line of pans:
But how well does it cook food?
I decided to have a cook-off between the Bialetti pan and my current nonstick saute pan. I made my Challah French Toast (a great way to use up leftover challah!). Instgead of baking it in the oven, I cooked half of the French toast in my current nonstick pan and the other half in the Bialetti Aeternum saute pan.
The half I cooked in my current pan burned unless I watched it vigilantly - as you can see from the picture, I didn't watch this batch as closely as I could have. Some of the pieces stuck slightly to the pan, and the pieces did not cook evenly.
The French toast in the Bialetti pan, on the other hand, turned a golden brown and did not burn. The pieces did not stick to the bottom of the pan, and they were all cooked evenly. And they were definitely more delicious!
I also noticed a difference in the handles of the pans. On my current pan, it was cool to the touch if I held the pan at the end of the handle. But if I ran my hand up the handle a bit, it became too hot to handle. For the Bialetti pan, the entire length of the handle was cool and easy to hold.
And washing my pan was a bit of work, as there was some food stuck to the pan. The Bialetti Aeternum pan was super easy to clean, and it was still bright white inside and red outside - no scratches or marks.
I really loved the Bialetti Aeternum 10-1/4" saute pan - so much so that I'm thinking about investing in the entire 8-piece set! That consists of 8" and 10-1/4" saute pans, 2-qt and 2.5-qt sauce pans, 5-qt stock pot, and three lids. If you like it too, "like" Bialetti USA on Facebook.
Would you like to purchase Bialetti Aeternum cookware? It's available at the Bialetti online shop and Amazon.com, as well as at Bed, Bath & Beyond stores.
Or would you like to get a 10-1/4" saute pan for free?
