The Auction Moms - a new community for eBay sellers
Selling items through auction sites like eBay is a great way to make some extra money and get rid of clutter throughout the house. It can even be turned into a home business - several years ago, for a couple of years, I sold used children's books via eBay and other sites. (See my Selling Books Online guide for more information if you'd like to give this a try.)
During those years, it would have been great to have had a community to join with other moms who were also augmenting their income through online auctions. I certainly would have made many fewer mistakes in my auctions had I been able to ask questions of more experienced eBay sellers, and I probably would have gained new ideas and approaches and been motivated to do better. But that community didn't exist.
But it does now!
The Auction Moms is a newly-launched community of moms who sell on eBay. Created by a current eBay power seller, the site aims to help new eBay sellers learn the tips and tricks of selling on eBay. The site also aims to help motivate and support Auction Moms members and to create a community of sellers.
For new eBay sellers, The Auction Moms provides an easy way to get started with selling: The Auction Moms 10-Day Challenge. Getting started on any new project can be tough, as it seems like there is a huge learning curve to climb. The 10-Day Challenge makes it easy to get started and start having success. Once you get going, you'll want to keep going!
There is also a free eBay template for those who have just started selling, as well as a PDF guide on how to fill it in. This is really helpful for someone just getting started - you'll have a professional-looking eBay auction in just minutes.
For more experienced sellers, there are forums to discuss buying, selling, shipping, and other topics. Since The Auction Moms is a very new site, there is very little here; however, as more sellers join, I'm sure it will become a great place to share information and pick up new tips. In addition, in April there will be social forums for members on a variety of topics, which will help the community grow closer.
The site also has opportunities for members to promote and grow their selling businesses. Besides a forum for self-promotion, the site will choose featured members each month. Selected member eBay listings will be featured on the homepage of The Auction Moms. And using the keyword TAMOMS on your eBay listings will help drive additional traffic from other The Auction Moms members.
The Auction Moms looks like a great place to help new eBay sellers get started. It has the promise to become a wonderful community for both new and experienced eBay sellers. If you'd like to join this up-and-coming community, join The Auction Moms now!
