Non-Alcoholic Yum Yum Peach Tea (Frugal Food Thursday)
Welcome to Frugal Food Thursday! If you have a great frugal recipe, please link up below!
Instead of Frugal Food Thursday, today is Frugal Drink Thursday.
Last weekend, my husband and I went out to dinner by ourselves - a rare treat!
One of the great pieces of advice that people give on saving money at restaurants is to not order drinks, as they really add to the cost of your bill. And I rarely order a drink - I usually just stick to water. But this time, I figured, what the heck!
I got an alcoholic drink called Yum Yum Peach Tea. It consisted of Jeremiah Weed Peach Sweet Tea Vodka mixed with fresh-squeezed lemonade. I loved it!
So I decided to try to recreate it at home - without the vodka. (Of course, you can add some vodka if you like!)
I used Kern's Peach Nectar, which I got on sale several weeks ago at Publix for 30¢ for a 64-oz bottle. I bought eight bottles at the time, thinking my kids would like to drink it. But only one kid likes it, and she prefers milk. So we still have a lot on hand.
I also used Lipton tea bags, which I bought on sale this week for 1.27¢ per bag. The lemon juice comes from Western Beef, which sells a 32-oz bottle for 99¢ (much cheaper than ALDI, where the same bottle is $1.69). And I still have a lot of sugar left from Christmas sales.
Enjoy!
NON-ALCOHOLIC YUM YUM PEACH TEA
1 cup peach nectar
1 cup strong tea
3/4 cup lemon juice
3/4 cup sugar
5 cups water
Mix all ingredients together in a 2-quart pitcher. Mix well and refrigerate for 1 hour. Serve over ice with lemon and lime slices.
Makes 2 quarts.

I see cans of peach nectar all the time at Amelia's Grocery Outlet. I even bought 1 can but could never figure out what to do with it. This sounds like a good party beverage, too!
