Walgreens: A good start for 2012
I took a trip over to Walgreens today. I didn't have any Register Rewards left over from last year, so I was starting from scratch. I ended up spending around $11 and received $8 in RRs. I'd say that's a good start for the year!
I had planned to purchase the Triaminic using both manufacturer's and store coupons. But when I got the January Walgreens coupon book, I saw that the store coupon was for the Triaminic twin pack, not for 2 separate bottles of Triaminic. So I declined to use it. Perhaps the store would have taken the coupon, but I decided to play it safe.
Here's what I got:
1 Herbal Essences shampoo @ $2.99 (receive $1 RR)
- $1/1 Herbal Essences or Aussie Product, exp. 1/31/12 (P&G 01/01/12)
= $1.99 (99¢ after RRs)
2 Triaminic Fever Reducer @ 2/$10 (receive $5 RR)
- 2 $3/1 Triaminic Fever Reducer Pain Reliever Product, exp. 2/15/12 (SS 12/04/11)
= $4 ($1 moneymaker after RRs)
1 Smart Protein bar @ $1.99 (receive $2 RR)
= $1.99 (1¢ moneymaker after RRs)
1 Charmin Basic @ $2.99
- $0.25/1 Charmin Product, exp. 1/31/12 (P&G 01/01/12)
= $2.74
Total product: $10.72
Tax: 36¢
Total out of pocket: $11.08
Total saved: $14.53
RRs received: $8 ($5, $2, $1)

It seems there's not been very much to choose from on deals at Walgreen's lately. This week's ad looks better.
I don't have any RR's left either.....I had $20 in Walgreen's card from my points but ended up spending them for Christmas.
I'm starting from scratch with no RRs either.....haven't been to Wags in a while. Thanks for posting about the Triaminic deal! We can always use that.
