Wednesday Weekly Shopping: Savings? What savings?
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!
This week, I saved a big ol' zero percent!
That's because I skipped shopping at Publix, CVS, Walgreens, or any other store where I might get deals or use coupons.
Instead, I made two trips to ALDI, including to the grand opening of the new ALDI in my area, where I was interviewed by a local paper. And I made trips to a local supermarket with great produce prices, to Walmart to pick up some beans for my Garlic-Parmesan White Bean Mash, and to the kosher supermarket for beef and chicken.
I didn't use any coupons this week, but I still stayed well under my budget of $80 per week for my family of five. Yay!
Here's what I got this week:
Overall, this week I spent $70.48 for items which retail for $70.48, or a 0% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased. (But don't compare percentages!)
For the year (49 weeks), I've spent $3771.09 for items which retail for $6815.65, and saved $3044.56, or a 45% savings. That's an average of $76.96 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 14, 10, and 6), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat.
How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire! Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

it's amazing that you can keep your budget of $80 for a family of five...
This week was my first week actually buying anything at Aldi besides milk and I have to say I am really happy with the deals I found there. I did a price comparison and found I would have paid over 50% more on the items I bought. I will definitely keep an eye on their prices! Great job on your savings this year!
Great job! :)
