Publix: The ol' coupon bait-and-switch
I was really excited about this week's Publix ad - there were a lot of great deals with matching coupons. But when I went to cut out the necessary coupons, I didn't find them in my coupon file. Sigh.
And for the things I did have coupons for, I decided that I didn't really need them. For instance, I considered buying cookie dough, but then I realized I still have several boxes of cookie dough mix from this trip. So I decided not to get them.
Here's the few things I did get:
3 Voskos yogurt @ $1.00 = $3.00
- $1/3 Voskos Facebook manufacturer's coupon
- $1/3 Voskos Greek Yogurt (Publix Yellow Advantage Flyer )
= $1 for three, or 34¢ each
2 Bush's garbanzo beans @ 79¢ = $1.58
2 grape tomatoes @ BOGO $2.99
= $1.50 each
Total out of pocket: $5.57
Total saved: $6.89

I went to Publix too, my weekly habit, and there was this well-dressed customer lady who pushed her buggy down every aisle an coughed loudly on every shelf on her way. I was trying to stay ahead of her, but it annoyed me so much that she never once put a tissue in front of her face or coughed into her sleeve. She stood over the produce and kept coughing -- I almost said something. Instead, I got out of there fast. This trip was not as successful as I planned.
@BellaJade - yuck! Sorry about your trip. Hope your next one is better!
