Publix: Lots of fun food
When you have a small food budget, you need to make sure that every dollar possible goes to healthy food to feed your family. Usually, you don't have extra money to buy what I call "fun food." Food like gourmet items, sweet treats, or frozen premade items. Instead, you need to buy the basics.
But this week at Publix, I was able to get some really "fun food." Mozzarella sticks, fancy spreadable cheese, and brownies! And I was able to keep the out of pocket costs really low.
We're going to have lots of fun eating this food!
I also had a $5 off $50 Publix coupon, given to me on my previous trip by a bagger who I talk with about what I've bought on sale and with coupons. I had bought Goodnites for my daughter (not listed here as it's not part of my food budget), and that added to the food items here brought my pre-coupon total above $50.
