ALDI: Markdowns on flour and cottage cheese
I took a trip to ALDI earlier this week to pick up the basics. I ended up strolling down all the aisles (there are only five, so this is no big deal), and found a couple of great deals!
First, a 5-lb bag of all-purpose flour was marked down to $1.49. I guess this is for the holiday baking season. That price beats buying flour at the grocery store even when on sale and with coupons. Great deal!
Second, I found cottage cheese marked down to 99¢ for a 24-oz container. I'm thinking this was temporary, due to the sell-by date coming soon. I still got two containers; they should still be good to eat for at least a week past the date.
Here's what I got:
2 gallons milk @ $2.69 = $5.38
2 baby carrots @ 49¢ = 98¢
1 mayonnaise @ $2.19
1 applesauce cups @ $1.29
1 head lettuce @ $1.15
1 cauliflower (used to make Peppery Cauliflower Bites) @ 99¢
1 3-lb bag Gala apples @ $2.79
2 refried beans @ 79¢ = $1.58
2 cottage cheese @ 99¢ = $1.98
1 5-lb bag all-purpose flour @ $1.49
1 container salt @ 35¢
2 apple juice concentrate @ 92¢
Total spent: $22.01

Great deals Laura! I actually got Golds cheaper at Publix after sale and coupons a while ago. Otherwise I would have stocked up at Aldi.
Thank you for linking up your savings at the Weekly Savings Linky @ Frugality Is Free.
That is a lot of food for $22. Thanks for sharing this great trip at Pounds4Pennies Friday Finals.
