Wednesday Weekly Shopping: Vacation shopping
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!
This week I didn't do any coupon shopping... because I was on vacation!
We were lucky enough to stay with family, so we did very little shopping. We bought a few items for the kids, and some Febreze because our rental car reeked of cigarette smoke. (Yuck!)
Mr. Frugal Follies had to go home a few days before the rest of us did, so he picked up a few basic items and a couple of frozen meals at Publix for himself... at full price. Ack! I should have foreseen this and bought a few meals on sale with coupons for him. Oops.
Oh, well, back to the deals next week!
Overall, this week I spent $43.68 for items which retail for $43.68, or a 0% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased. (But don't compare percentages! I really mean it this time!) My real savings (how much more I'd spend if I bought those items at the lowest possible regular price in my area) was $0.00.
For the year (31 weeks), I've spent $2249.17 for items which retail for $4349.08, and saved $2099.91, or a 48% savings. That's an average of $72.55 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 14, 10, and 6), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat.
See all my shopping here. (Believe me, it's not that exciting.)
How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire! Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

Oh yes, sending the husband to the store can be ridiculously dangerous for the grocery budget:)
