Disappointment at the produce store

I took a trip over to my produce store, the one where I've been getting great local produce at fabulous prices. But not so much today! They were out of most things (they said that they were getting shipments in today, but they weren't there when I got there), and the produce there either was good but expensive, or poor but cheap. I limited myself to just a few items to make salads with and use up all the lettuce I bought last week.

When I went to ALDI later, I compared prices. They were about the same, and the quality was better at ALDI. So I may be skipping the produce store until local produce starts coming in - probably in the early fall, as Florida farmers are not growing vegetables right now.

Here's what I did get:

3 tomatoes @ 99¢/lb
2 peppers @ 99¢/lb
4 cucumbers @ 2/99¢
