CVS: Out of a jam
I took a trip over to CVS today. I needed to finish this deal:
Jif, Smuckers or Folgers Products
Get $5 ECBs wyb $15 (Limit 1)
--Jif Peanut Butter or Smuckers Preserves (18 oz.), 2/$5
--Folgers Classic or Decafe Coffee (22.6-33.9 oz.), $10
I had bought four jars on Sunday, and was hoping to find the final two today so that I could get the $5 ECB. (Yes, you don't have to buy all of the products in a Buy $x get $y ECB deal at once! Just buy them within the sale cycle - in this case, one week.)
And yes, I found two more jars today. And I also picked up two more bottles of soda for an upcoming party. And, the coupon machine printed out a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more! Hope I can use that coupon this Sunday!
Here's the details:
2 Smuckers strawberry preserves @ 2/$5.00 = $5.00 (receive $5 ECB wyb $15)
- 2 $1/2 Select Smucker's Products, exp. 7/30 (RP 5/22/11)
= $4.00
2 Coca-Cola products, 2 liter @ 69¢
= $1.38
Total product: $5.38
Pay with $4.00 ECB from Sunday's trip
Total after ECBs: $1.38
Tax: 9¢
Total out of pocket: $1.47
Total saved compared to CVS full prices: $10.58
Received $5 ECB

I think I missed something... Did you spend 15.00?
I bought four jars (spending $10.00 before coupons) on Sunday - here's the post about that: http://www.frugalfollies.com/2011/07/cvs-jam-packed.html
Combined with the two jars ($5.00) from this trip, I spent the required $15 and earned a $5 ECB. I spent $12 out of pocket - so after ECBs, I spent $7 for six jars, or $1.17 each. Not too bad - jam at ALDI is $1.69 per jar - but not the world's best deal, either.
I would have gotten some jam this week too but, I had purchased a bunch from Harris Teeter about a month back. I only have so much room!
Glad to see you were able to finish.
