Wednesday Weekly Shopping: Lettuce save money!
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!
Last week, I had gone over budget. I pulled it in for this week, but just by a couple of bucks. And I bought way too much lettuce! I had bought romaine lettuce earlier this week, and then bought two heads of iceberg lettuce at the produce store on Monday. And then I found a great deal on bagged Italian salad at ALDI, so I bought four there. Now we have a lot of lettuce. Salad, anyone?
Here's what I got this week (click on the link below the picture for more details about the trip):
Overall, this week I spent $78.04 for items which retail for $117.65, or a 34% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased. (But don't compare percentages!) My real savings (how much more I'd spend if I bought those items at the lowest possible regular price in my area) was approximately $23.36.
For the year (26 weeks), I've spent $1953.34 for items which retail for $3753.77, and saved $1800.43, or a 48% savings. That's an average of $75.13 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 13, 10, and 6), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat.
See all my shopping here.
How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire! Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

You do a great job saving each week while purchasing a wide variety of healthy food for your family. And, when you look at how much you have saved for the first half of the year...wow! It makes all of the deal shopping totally worth it!!! Great job :)
Were you able to submit for the gas card rebate with the Nutragrain? From the photo it does not look like you got all of the ones with codes on.
I would like to invite you to link up your savings at the Weekly Savings Linky @ Frugality Is Free .
That is a lot of lettuce! :-)
