Produce store: Where's the sales?
This week at my produce store, there was no 50% off sale. In fact, very few things were on sale this week. I figure that most of the local (South Florida) farms have stopped producing for the summer, so that the produce at the store has been shipped in from the northern parts of the state - or from across the country, like at any supermarket. Still, the prices are pretty good - low overhead helps!
2 heads iceberg lettuce @ 99¢ = $1.98
1 head Romain lettuce @ 99¢
1 bag baby carrots @ $1.29
33 mini sweet peppers @ 50¢/lb
12 jalapeno peppers @ 50¢/lb
3 cucumbers @ 3/99¢
Total spent: $6.23
