Publix: My kids' favorites
I stopped by Publix today. The new week's sales didn't really excite me, with the exception of two: the Mueller's pasta and the Juicy Juice.
As it happens, my two older kids could live on nothing but pasta, and my two younger ones love juice. (Note: I only have three kids!) So this trip will make them (particularly the middle one) very happy!
Here's what I got:
16 boxes Mueller's pasta @ BOGO $1.49 = $11.92
- 8 $1/2 Mueller's pasta coupons from the 3/27 SmartSource insert
= $3.92 for 16 boxes, or 24.5¢ each
4 8-packs Juicy Juice @ BOGO $3.25 = $6.50
- 2 $1/2 Juicy Juice printable coupons
= $4.50 for four, or $1.12 each
Total spent: $8.42
Total saved: $28.42
I used the gift cards I won in blog giveaways to pay, so this trip ended up costing me nothing out of pocket! (I'll still count it toward my budget goal of $80 per week.)

Very nice shopping!
Question? Is your 80 dollar budget for a family of five and do you buy meat everday on that budget?
The $80 is for all groceries, personal care items, and paper goods. It's not for medicine. It also doesn't cover restaurants (once dinner a week for the family, 2 lunches per week for my husband). We eat meat a few times a week, usually in a stir-fry or other less-meat kind of dish.
