Passover shopping
I went to my local kosher specialty store to get some items for the upcoming Passover holiday. Having made a Passover price list for the items at Publix, Winn-Dixie, and Walmart, I compare this store's prices and bought the items that were less here.
What's more important is what I didn't buy. There are all kinds of treats available for Passover - all sorts of candies and chocolates, cakes and other sweets. I chose not to buy those.
I also didn't buy the many kosher for Passover items like instant mashed potatoes, tomato sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, salad dressing, and the like. It's only eight days - we can either make things from scratch, or just go without.
Here's what I got for $29.39:
1 5-lb box matzah @ $5.99
2 jars gefilte fish @ $4.79 = $9.58
1 bottle kosher wine @ $3.48
2 bags chocolate chips @ $2.39 = $4.78
2 jars matzah farfel @ $1.99 = $3.98
1 bag marshmallows @ $1.29
Tax: 29¢
Total spent: $29.39
