Menu Plan 4/18/11: Passover
Monday night starts the holiday of Passover, so our menu this week will be dictated by the rules of the holiday: No items containing wheat, barley, spelt, rye, or oats are eaten (other than matzah). In addition, according to tradition, rice, corn, lentils, beans, and peanuts are not eaten.
The first two nights of the week, we will be having a traditional Passover seder. Other than that, we will eat a lot of leftovers, traditional dishes, and simply prepared meats with salads.
Here's what's for dinner this week:
Monday - Passover seder: chicken soup with matzah balls, gefilte fish, roast turkey breast, potato kugel, matzah kugel, salad, broccoli, fruit
Tuesday - same as Monday
Wednesday - Passover "Macaroni" and Cheese
Thursday - Seder leftovers
Friday - baked chicken breasts, mini potato knishes, salad
Saturday - matzah pizza, cut-up veggies
Sunday - matzah brei (fried matzah), fruit
