Menu Plan 3/21/11: Cleaning out the fridge
This week, I'll start getting ready for the Passover holiday, which starts the evening of April 18. For the holiday, we eat matzah, and don't eat anything with grains (i.e. wheat, corn, rice, oats, or any product made from those like corn oil or corn syrup). So over the next few weeks, I'll be trying to use up open packages of non-kosher for Passover items. Unopened packages are okay; I will just put those away during the holiday. But my fridge is full of bottles of this and that which need to be used up! We'll also use Passover as an excuse to do spring cleaning, to get rid of any crumbs that might be hiding throughout the house.
Here's what's for dinner this week:
Monday - chicken stir-fry over brown rice
Tuesday -salmon fillets over salad
Wednesday - mushroom pizza on whole wheat pizza dough, fruit
Thursday - pasta with meat sauce, salad, garlic bread
Friday - chicken breasts baked in salad dressing, rice, salad, challah
Saturday - macaroni and cheese cooked in the crockpot
Sunday - takeout!
