CVS: Too much out-of-pocket?
For this week's CVS trip, I think I paid more out of pocket than I have for any other trip this year. *sigh*
But here's my rationale:
- I haven't been all that happy with the Extra Care Bucks deals for the last couple of weeks - I only had $6.99 in ECBs on hand.
- We were out of paper towels, and there was a good buy on Sparkle (buy 8 rolls for $5.99, get $1 ECB).
- The Clean & Clear body wash was a great deal - only 49¢ per bottle after coupons!
- The cereal deals were pretty good, and we are always running low on cereal.
4 Kellogg's Raisin Bran cereal @ $1.87 = $7.48 (regular price $3.59)
- 2 $1/2 Kellogg's coupons from the 3/6 RedPlum insert
= $5.48 for four, or $1.37 each
2 Kellogg's Crunchy Nut cereal @ BOGO $3.99
- 2 70¢ off Kellogg's Crunchy Nut cereal coupons from the 3/27 RedPlum insert
= $2.59 for two, or $1.30 each
1 Sparkle paper towel 8-pack @ $5.99 (receive $1 ECB) (regular price $8.79)
4 Clean & Clear body wash @ $2.99 = $11.96 (regular price $5.99)
- 2 BOGO Clean & Clear body wash coupons from the 3/27 SmartSource insert
- 2 $2.00 off Clean & Clear product printable coupon
= $1.96 for four, or 49¢ each
Total product before ECBs: $16.04
Paid with $6.99 ECBs
Total product after ECBs: $9.05
Tax: $1.05
Total out of pocket: $10.10
Total saved: $46.04

I think we get spoiled spending so little at CVS for so much. But you paid less than a dollar per item--a great price for any of them. Thanks for linking up your CVS shopping trip at Simply CVS.
I agree! Most people would spend that much just for three boxes of cereal and think that was a good deal. You did fine!

i posted my trip to CVS up, it was my first one and I think I did pretty good!
I wanted to get the body wash too since I had coupons but I didn't. I need to go back though this week so I think I might pick some up. For that price it doesn't hurt!!
